Friday the 10th of April 2020 – Esperance, Western Australia

Happy Easter everyone and I hope you have had, or are having a good “Good Friday” in isolation. We started the day with the traditional Hot Cross Buns for Breakie with an Easter Egg just to finish it off.

After our morning exercise and a couple of house keeping jobs, we took off on a quick drive along the coast. Whilst is was pretty quiet there where a few people about, 50 – 50 between inter-staters and locals but all seemed to be keeping a safe distance apart. Stopped off at a few beaches and the Pink Lake, which is not Pink anymore. Hope you like the photos below.

It was another bright sunny day although much cooler than yesterday’s 33. We are expecting warmer weather over the next few days, low 30’s on Sunday so we are going to head off to the beach for a swim. It will probably be our last chance as we expect the weather to turn. Its mid April and still having mid 30 temperatures which is not normal. Then again, 2020 has been far from normal.

The Pink Lake, that’s no Longer Pink!
It wouldn’t be a post without one selfie in it! The Pink Lake was Pink once, the salinity levels have been changed over the years, resulting in the loss of the pink colour. Apparently efforts are being made to get it back to its previous pink state. Maybe Esperance Shire should get “Pink” to sponsor it for a donation, promising to name it in her honour!

    Hope you have a great Easter, but please do as our government is asking ALL Australians…stay off the roads so our hospitals don’t have to deal with car accident victims.

      Hi Lisa, unfortunately the rules are different in each state, which is really silly but I can assure you we are following the rules here. Esperance locality has been closed so we can only go within a small distance, the beaches are about 5 k’s away and are still open but patrolled by police. I believe the beaches are closed in Vic but you can travel to your holiday home, that does not make sense. We did a quick trip before doing our shopping. Whilst we are stuck in the Park we do have the opportunity to go out but that not far. We are lucky in the sense we are in a regional area that is C-19 free, as I write this too you 3 JetSki’s are out on the bay, so some things have remained the same here. Anyway enjoy the rest of your Easter too. Cheers

    Happy Easter to you both. Glad to read you’re both still enjoying it, in spite of limitations!
    Excellent beard mate, but it does make you look a bit like Wurzel Gummidge!
