Sunday the 17th of May – Ravensthorpe, Western Australia

Yes its true, we have moved on from Esperance after 8 weeks and we’re in Ravensthorpe about 200 k’s west of Esperance and 300 k’s north east of Albany. We’re here so we can drive up to Hyden (200 k’s north west) tomorrow to visit Wave Rock. We didn’t want to drive all that way with the van, so this was the best alternative. Big day of driving tomorrow, so hopefully it will be worth it.

Ravensthorpe is not a big town, one pub, one grocery store and some cafe’s, although it does have a great lolly shop. Its funny not hearing waves in the background but the park is covered in Kangaroo poo, so we might have a few friends visiting us overnight.

Completely different setting here in Ravensthorpe to Esperance.
The first Silo art we have seen in WA, its a bit different to the previous silo’s we’ve viewed in SA and Victoria.
The other side!
There’s not much here, so I could not show the Lolly Shop sign!

    Hi Ray ‘n’ Susan,

Glad you can resume your grey nomad journey. The art looks good too.
Stay away from the roo poo 💩 haha.
The weather is slowly improving here, but the house now has ‘issues’!
Garage floor has cracked & investigation revealed a hidden void underneath!! Insurance policy reveals we are covered though, so photos etc have already gone off & we away the verdict from them!!!
Stay safe mate. Love to you both. R&T

So glad to hear that you are on your way again, envy you both. We have loved your photos and comments so far and Esparance is now definitely on our trip list. Things here in Keilor East are very quiet. Lockdown has been OK to date but now starting to wear thin. Think it will be closer to Xmas b4 we can hit the bitumen and that will be Victoria only for awhile we think. Getting lots of jobs done and cleaning too around the place but every time l walk out the front door and look at our new caravan l get more and more restless. Anyway, keep the dream alive for us all Ray & Sue, await to hear and see photos of your travels, keep safe on the roads, Lyn & Chris

Hi Lyn, glad to know you guys are safe and well, don’t go eating at Macca’s though! We thought we’d never leave Esperance but hopefully we can continue and the borders open up as we travel. Cheers

    Hi Ray & Susan
We have been following your ” holiday” in Esperance and are pleased that you can now continue your journey.. We look forward to catching up when you get to Perth. In the meantime enjoy your tour through our wonderful state, notwithstanding the rabbit poo.
